Nicknames

Nicknames - extremely important part of the world of children. Nicknames are invented by children for children and become the sample of thin and refined system. However we receive the nicknames first in our life from parents and people close to us. Irrespective of cultural conditions each small child appears is showered by the different names any of which is not its official name literally. While it is not known how the baby understands all this variety as starts to accept a name as own. The names used by the father and mother in relation to the child, to a certain extent differ. For fathers the formal manner of the reference to children is characteristic more likely.

But how there are nicknames? The researches spent among children, have shown that there are following main principles of an origin of nicknames:
1) some nicknames describe qualities of the child: physical, intellectual or properties of character, for example: the fat man, crammed, очкарик, красотуля, the meek creature, etc.;
2) many events, coincidence in a life are a source of occurrence of nicknames;
3) communication of an official name and a nickname. When, for example, somebody by name of Donald starts to be called - Dak.

Many people have some nicknames, and each of them is, seemingly, connected with an accessory to certain group. Two friends or, say, small group of friends can have special nicknames for each other which are not allowed for using more to anybody, but in wider group they according to a situation use other nicknames.

As well as many other social phenomena, system of nicknames, possibly, is not only the solidarity form, but also a source of other forms of social activity, for example поддразнивания and humiliations. The same nickname can serve as display of liking and to be insult means. Though also the insult acts some kind of a recognition whereas those about twenty percent to whom it is refused a nickname, are not recognised at all.
